Snow Blankets Van’s Historical Treasures

Van, a city rich in historical artifacts located in eastern Türkiye, has become a winter wonderland, captivating onlookers with enchanting scenes. The Urartian-built Van Castle, perched on Lake Van’s shores, offers breathtaking views amid a snowy landscape. Stretching 1,800 meters in length, 120 meters in width, and rising 80 meters high on a steep rock, the castle provides a majestic backdrop. Meanwhile, the Suleiman Han Mosque, restored by Suleiman the Magnificent in 1534, beckons photography enthusiasts with its snow-covered allure. Akdamar Island, adorned in white, features a church dating back to the Armenians, creating picturesque postcard images against the snowy backdrop.
