Snowboarders Flock to Artvin’s Sahara National Park

Sahara National Park, at an altitude of 2,400 meters, connecting Artvin’s Cittaslow Şavşat district and Ardahan province in Türkiye, has become a favorite spot for snowboarding enthusiasts.

“As nature and sports enthusiasts, we look forward to the snowfall every year and coming to these steep slopes and the natural wonders of Artvin and Şavşat. I hope other snowboarders come and enjoy the 2.5-meter-thick powder snow in Artvin Şavşat,” says Ali Burak Toy, a member of the ‘Snow Wolves’ snowboarding community.

“We will organize a skiing event on steep slopes in crystal snow at an altitude of 2,400 meters. This annual event of ours makes us very happy. I wish everyone sees these beauties of Artvin and benefits from these beauties,” said Mehmet Ünal, another member.
