Snowstorm Claims 9 Lives in the US

 

A severe snowstorm sweeping across the central and eastern United States has claimed nine lives and caused widespread disruptions. Fatalities from snow-related traffic accidents were reported in Virginia (3), Missouri (2), Kansas (2), North Carolina (1), and West Virginia (1).

States of emergency were declared in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Over 200,000 people are without power, according to Poweroutage.us. Snowstorm warnings affect more than 50 million residents, spanning from Kentucky to Washington, D.C.
