A snowstorm hit the US state of New York. 3 people lost their lives due to the “lake-effect snow” that was effective in the northern and western parts of New York. Authorities reported that 2 people in the city of Buffalo had a heart attack while they were shoveling snow, and a person who was a snowplow driver in the town of Hamlet, Indiana, died as a result of an accident.
Zack Taylor, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service, said in a statement that snow thickness could reach 38 centimeters in areas near Lake Erie and 61 centimeters in areas near Lake Ontario.
