Due to the snowstorm that emerged on Thursday in the US state of New York, 2 people in Erie district died of heart attack while clearing snow.
According to the National Weather Service, snow levels have reached 1.7 meters in the central parts of Lake Erie. In the town of Hamburg, a building partially collapsed, Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz said.
In Buffalo, the state’s second most populated city, the snow depth reached 36 cm, while power outages occurred in the region due to heavy rain.
Transportation has also been disrupted as many roads, especially the New York Highway, were covered with snow.
The storm is expected to last until Sunday.
