Russia’s return to the grain agreement with the initiatives of Turkey and the UN was welcomed by the Somali people. Amina Sidow Umar, who sells from the grain market in the capital Mogadishu, said in a statement that families have been in a difficult situation with the recent increase in grain prices and that the stocks are about to run out. Emphasizing that Turkey’s resolution of the grain corridor crisis is important for Somalia, Umar said that rising prices will decrease thanks to the grain shipments that will reach Africa in the coming days.
