The South Korean National Fire Service announced that the number of people who died in the plane that crashed while landing on Muan International Airport has risen to 177.
Authorities say that 22 casualties have been identified so far and that 1,500 emergency personnel who were dispatched to the scene after the crash are continuing their work on the runway, which was closed until 05:00 on January 1.
South Korea’s ousted President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the crash on social media.
