SpaceX launches German reconnaissance satellite from California

US-based aerospace manufacturer SpaceX launched a reconnaissance satellite for Germany on June 18. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the SARah-1 satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 7:19 am. 8 minutes after launch, the first stage of the carrier automatically landed on the site located in the cosmodrome. The launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California was published on the company’s website. The SARah-1 satellite was developed by Airbus for the German army. 2 more similar satellites are expected to be launched into orbit later, and together the SAR-Lupe system is expected to replace the former German reconnaissance satellites.
