Spain and the United Kingdom experienced their hottest June since temperature records began. Spain’s meteorological agency AEMET reported an average temperature of 26°C, surpassing the 2003 record. The highest daily temperature reached 37.9°C.
In the UK, the Met Office said June’s average temperature hit 16.9°C, making it the hottest June since records began in 1884. The extreme heat is part of a broader wave impacting Europe.
