Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced a ban on ships and aircraft carrying fuel or weapons for the Israeli army from using Spanish ports and airspace.
Sanchez, speaking on Israel’s actions in Gaza, accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of “bombing hospitals” and “starving innocent children,” calling it genocide. He said, “Protecting your country is one thing, but bombing hospitals and killing children is quite another. This means destroying a defenseless population and violating all humanitarian law.”
The Spanish leader also announced that Spain will formalize its ban on arms trade with Israel, deny entry to those “directly involved in the genocide,” and increase humanitarian aid to Gaza. Sanchez admitted the measures would not stop the war but said they would “increase pressure on Netanyahu and show the Spanish people their country is on the right side of history.”
