Spain Busts Atlantic Drug Network Using Floating Bases

Spanish National Police dismantled a major drug trafficking network that used floating bases in the Atlantic Ocean and speedboats to move cocaine into Europe. Authorities said the group shipped around 57 tons of cocaine to Europe via Spain and Portugal last year. The operation, carried out with support from international partners including the Europol, led to 105 arrests and the seizure of more than 10 tons of cocaine. Police said the network relied on encrypted communications, offshore platforms, and at-sea supply systems to evade detection.
