spain seizes hundreds of endangered stuffed animals

In the operation held in Valencia, Spain, 1,090 stuffed animals with a market value of 29 million euros belonging to a businessman were seized. Authorities reported that more than 400 animals belong to protected species. Among the animals seized, it was stated that the extinct Oryx with curved horns, the Addax and the Bengal tiger, which are in danger of extinction. Other frozen animals seized include cheetah, leopard, lion, lynx, polar bear, snow leopard, white rhino, as well as 198 pieces of ivory.

The Spanish Civil Guard reported that two people were arrested as a result of the operation and an investigation was launched against them on suspicion of committing crimes against smuggling and wildlife protection.
