special exhibition held for 100th anniversary of Turkish Republic in Tokyo

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, a photography exhibition called “100 Discoveries” was opened at the Owada Cultural Center in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. The exhibition aims to introduce Türkiye’s historical, natural, and cultural beauties to Japanese citizens.

Duygu Ashizawa, Head of Public Relations Agency of Tokyo Embassy Cultural and Information Affairs Consultancy, said that the photographs were chosen among more than 2,000 photographs in a competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Photographic Arts Federation of Türkiye.

“Throughout this exhibition, I felt the beauty and cultural diversity of Türkiye more deeply. I realized that there are many unknown beauties in Türkiye apart from the historical and natural beauties such as Cappadocia, which is most widely known by the Japanese,” said Hisashi Tsuruta, a visitor.

“The displayed works are truly magnificent. Thanks to this exhibition, we got to know about the various beauties of Türkiye, which is not popular with the Japanese. This exhibition reflects the rich culture of Türkiye, located in the middle of countries such as Syria and Greece,” said Akira Nagashima.
