Spirit Airlines Plane Attacked Near Haiti, Flights Suspended

A Spirit Airlines passenger plane from Florida was attacked while approaching Port-au-Prince, Haiti, resulting in an emergency diversion to Santiago, Dominican Republic. The incident injured one crew member but spared passengers from harm. Social media images reveal a bullet hole near the rear exit door and overhead compartment. Spirit Airlines stated the aircraft is now out of service.

Following the attack, all flights to Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport have been suspended. Spirit Airlines also halted services to both Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien in northern Haiti. Passengers from the affected flight were safely returned to Florida on an alternate plane.
