Spring Blooms: Kızılırmak Delta Welcomes 7,500 Visitors

The Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary of Türkiye, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has come alive with vibrant wildlife and blooming vegetation this spring. During the Eid holiday, around 7,500 visitors flocked to witness the picturesque delta adorned with water daisies and colorful flowers, marking a surge in tourism compared to previous years. Situated across Samsun’s 19 Mayıs, Bafra, and Alaçam districts, this sanctuary spanning 56 thousand hectares has minimized human intervention since 2016, promoting wildlife preservation. With restrictions allowing access only via bicycles, electric bikes, and battery-powered vehicles, the sanctuary has seen a significant rise in visitors, with approximately 100 thousand people exploring its natural wonders in 2023.
