A powerful storm swept across Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia, disrupting transportation and causing material damage. In Hungary, Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Airport was temporarily closed, and train services halted due to fallen trees and damaged power lines.
In Croatia, a catamaran capsized near Kaprije Island, throwing nine people into the sea—two were hospitalized. The storm also damaged rooftops and cars in Zagreb. A viral video showed a portable toilet blown across the border from Croatia into Serbia.
The storm also disrupted protest camps in Belgrade and affected traffic across the region.
