Storm Elias brought life to standstill in Greece

The storm and hail triggered by Storm Elias in the western and central parts of Greece caused chaos. The hail and rain in the Epirus region and Trikala brought traffic to a halt. Education was suspended in schools in the town of Xylokastro. It was said that all emergency, firefighting, and security units were alerted to a possible disaster before the storm.

According to meteorological officials, heavy rains with hail in the Peloponnese Peninsula, Thessaly, and Epirus regions are expected to continue, and the storm is expected to increase in intensity in the central, eastern, and southern parts of the country tomorrow.
