Storm hits Normandy shores in France, kills 1

A storm hit the city of Calvados in the Normandy region of France. Due to the strong winds, 1 surfer died and 5 people were slightly injured. While strong winds were effective in the seaside resorts of Deauville, Villers-sur-Mer, Ouistreham and Trouville, the people on the coast fled the area in panic.

Search-and-rescue team and a helicopter were sent to search for a person who disappeared off the coast of Deauville, authorities said.
