Strikes In Italy Demand Sanctions On Israel

Thousands across Italy joined strikes and protests urging the government to condemn what unions called “genocide in Gaza” and to impose sanctions on Israel. Demonstrations disrupted metro and bus services, while protesters blocked highways and shut down the ports of Genoa and Livorno.

In Rome, students rallied at Termini Station waving Palestinian flags and chanting “Free Palestine.” Protesters accused the government of inaction, with one participant saying they marched “for the dead children of Gaza and the destroyed hospitals.”
