Strong 7.8 Quake Strikes Off Russia’s Kamchatka Coast

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit off the Kamchatka Peninsula, 128 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the US Geological Survey.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii issued a tsunami warning, though casualties or damage have not yet been reported.
