students and parents protest decision to close 7 schools in France

Following the decision of closing 7 vocational high schools in the French capital, Paris, and placing students in other schools, 780 students and their parents protested in Rebuplique Square. In the demonstration, supported by the yellow vests, students called for support from other schools as well.

While authorities defend that the schools were neglected and closed for maintenance work, the students and parents claim that the decision was taken to permanently close the vocational high schools in Paris and send the students to high schools in the suburbs.

Doubting that the high schools in the suburbs will provide successful education for their children, parents also asked for support from the unions to keep their schools open.

The police took strict security measures against possible incidents.
