Students Protest ‘ICE’ at Columbia University

Hundreds of students protested the Trump administration’s immigration policies outside Columbia University in New York City, United States, accusing the school of cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Demonstrators chanted “ICE OUT” and claimed the university was failing to protect students and staff from federal immigration actions.

Police detained around 10 protesters after they blocked traffic in front of the campus and refused to clear the road, according to the New York Police Department. The protest took place amid broader nationwide criticism of US President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.
