Supermoon Dazzles Skywatchers in Japan

A rare “supermoon” — when the Moon comes closest to Earth — lit up Japan’s night sky, appearing up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual.

The striking view was captured by the Kitasubaru Observatory in Hokkaido’s Nayaro City and by amateur photographers across the country, creating a stunning visual spectacle for skywatchers.
