Survivor Praises Crew in Deadly Azerbaijan Airlines Crash

Azerbaijani Subhonkul Rahimov, one of 29 survivors of the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash in Aktau, Kazakhstan, recounted the harrowing moments leading to the tragedy that claimed 38 lives.

Rahimov praised flight attendant Höküme Aliyeva, who lost her life in the crash. “Bravo to her. Even in chaos, she gave clear instructions and did her job wholeheartedly,” he said. He credited his survival to wearing a seat belt and noted the panic onboard as oxygen masks deployed.

Azerbaijani authorities are cooperating with Kazakhstani officials to investigate the crash’s cause.
