Seven Azerbaijani citizens who survived the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane crash in Kazakhstan were flown to Baku by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The survivors were greeted by officials and medical teams at Heydar Aliyev International Airport before being transported to the hospital for treatment. Relatives of those who perished in the crash paid tribute by leaving flowers at a memorial stand outside the terminal.
The Embraer 190 aircraft, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed during an emergency landing near Aktau, Kazakhstan. Azerbaijani and Kazakh authorities are jointly investigating the incident, which claimed 38 lives.
