Sweden Urges EU to Impose Sanctions on Russia After Navalny’s Death

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson touched upon the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Sweden’s reaction against it at the press conference held after his meeting with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk in Warsaw. Stating that Vladimir Putin should be held responsible and tried for this death, Kristersson stated that Sweden wants the EU to impose a new sanctions package on Russia in response to this death. This would be the best way to commemorate Navalny and punish Russia for on behalf of Ukraine, added Kristersson.
