Syrian Army Reclaims Final US Base

The Syrian army has officially taken control of the Kasrak Air Base in Hasakah, Syria, marking the complete withdrawal of US-led coalition forces from the country. Following the departure of American troops and armored convoys toward neighboring Iraq, the Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the government now controls all military installations previously occupied by the US. Kasrak had served as a crucial hub for joint operations against ISIS alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces since 2018. A Syrian Foreign Ministry statement celebrated the handover, emphasizing that restoring sovereignty over the northeastern border regions reflects ongoing efforts to reunite the nation. This final departure concludes a phased US withdrawal that recently saw Syrian forces reclaim the Al-Tanf, Al-Shaddadi, and Rumeilan bases.
