Syrian Leader Pledges Economic Revival

 

Speaking at the Arab Media Summit in the UAE, Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara outlined an ambitious roadmap for his country’s ongoing political and economic transformation. Emphasizing a definitive break from 60 years of corruption and mismanagement, he set a target of building a $60 billion economy in the coming years. “We expect to return to our 2010 economic level by 2027,” al-Shara announced during the panel. He noted that the recent liberation of Damascus has restored national trust, adding, “Today, Syrians deeply feel the joy experienced by their Arab and Muslim brothers and sisters with the victory and liberation of Damascus.”
