Thousands of Syrians, who gained their freedom after the fall of the Assad regime, flocked to the historical Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, to attend Friday prayers.
“I will stay in Syria for two days. I came to pray at the Umayyad Mosque, the most historical place in Syria. This place is very important to us. When I arrived at the mosque, I asked my family, ‘Am I dreaming or not?’ For the first time, accurate information is being given at the Umayyad Mosque,” said Raghad, who came to Syria from Dubai.
“In the past, the mosque clerics used to pray for Assad all the time, now they are cursing him. We want Assad to be executed,” said another Syrian.
