With the opposition’s victory in Syria, many Syrians in Türkiye are returning to their homeland, eager to reunite with the land they longed for. Families from Aleppo gathered at the Öncüpınar Border Gate, completing formalities before setting off for Aleppo.
Taha Ariri, who spent 10 years in Türkiye, expressed gratitude, saying, “We became like brothers with the Turks. After Assad left, I’m returning to Aleppo with my family. Türkiye supported us in our hardest times.”
Another returnee, Ali Hariri, shared similar sentiments, stating, “We came here due to the war. The Turks took great care of us. Now, despite losing our home, we’ll rebuild and start anew in Aleppo.”
