Dozens of people protested at the Bab al-Hawa border crossing on the Turkey-Syria border in order to keep the border crossing open so that aid to Syrian refugees could continue unabated through Turkey. Obeida Dandesh, one of the protest organizers, said that closing the Bab al-Hawa Border Gate would endanger the lives of hundreds of families living in refugee camps in northern Syria. According to Danesh, the aid passing through the border crossing is purely humanitarian and has nothing to do with the conflicting parties.
Approximately 4.5 million people receive international aid through the Bab el-Hawa border crossing.
