Taiwan implements the “monetary support to tourists visiting the country” project, which was approved as part of the country’s goal to attract 6 million visitors by the beginning of 2023.
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau announced that from April 15, the government is offering tourists 5,000 New Taiwan dollars (about $163 USD) per traveler or NT$20,000 (about $653 USD) for up to 90,000 tour groups.
Taiwan will offer 5,000 NT for those who travel independently from a tourist group, 10,000 NT for tour groups of at least 8 people, and a maximum of 20,000 NT for groups of more than 15 people, according to Lin Hsin-jen, Deputy Director General of the Tourism Bureau. Lin also added that the funds will be paid by card rather than cash.
