Taiwan’s orchid named ‘Ukraine’ displays at International Orchid Fair

For the first time, visitors to the International Orchid Fair will be able to see orchids in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, which were produced in Taiwan using special nanotechnology. Orchid production in Taiwan plays a significant role in agricultural exports, with 63 countries receiving orchids. Taiwan earned 157 million dollars in 2021 by exporting 14 thousand tons of orchids. Orchids grown in Taiwan, the world leader in nanotech-orchid production, will be on display at the International Orchid Fair in Tainan from March 26 to April 5.

After receiving a Ukrainian orchid from the Taiwanese government, Sergiy Korsunsky, the Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine, posted a message on his Twitter account. “These orchids are a special species produced in Taiwan and the name is Ukraine,” Korsunsky said, sharing a photo of the orchids.

At the International Orchid Fair in Tainan, proceeds from orchids named Ukraine will be donated to Ukraine.
