The administration of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands in Spain, revealed the damage caused by the severe wildfire on the island. The authorities stated that the wildfire, which was defined as the most severe in the last 40 years, caused 80.4 million euros of material damage. The amount only covers the reconstruction of farmland, roads, infrastructure, Teide National Park and the island’s protected natural areas.
It was recorded that 14,751 hectares on the island, which is planned to be declared a disaster zone, were completely burned.
