Tenerife Island wildfire is growing

The forest fire that started on Tuesday in the northeast of Tenerife Island in Spain’s Canary Islands is growing. The size of the area that has burned so far has increased to 1,800 hectares. Fernando Clavijo, President of the Canary Islands, said that many aircraft and land vehicles were used in the region, but the fire has not been taken under control so far.

Last month, 4,500 hectares of land turned to ash, and 4,255 people were evacuated due to the fires on La Palma Island, another Canary Island.
