Tens of thousands evacuated due to major flooding in Australia

More than 15,000 people have been evacuated due to major flooding in Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) on Tuesday.  Across the state, 38 regions were designated as natural disaster areas. Thousands of residents evacuated from their homes and hundreds of people have been rescued.
Further evacuations were expected as heavy rainfall continued, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
