Iranian gunboats harassed US patrol ship in the Persian Gulf, a US official claimed. “Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Cops navy (IRGCN) operates in an unsafe and unprofessional manner in close proximity to patrol coastal ship USS Sirocco and expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Choktaw County in the strait of Hormuz,” the statement of the US official said, adding that the gunboats approached the US ships up to a distance of 47 meters.
After about an hour of tension, Iranian gunboats left the area.
