Tension rises before “Flag March” in Al-Aqsa Mosque

Hundreds of Israeli settlers, including Deputy Itamar Ben Gvir, one of the leaders of the far-right Jewish Power Party (Otzma Yehudit), came to Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces. Afterwards, Israeli settlers entered the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed their religious rituals. Eyewitnesses stated that Israeli settlers are still in Al-Aqsa Mosque and continue their provocations. Israeli forces deployed on the roads leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque and set up barricades at many points before the “Flag March”, which will be held by Israeli settlers at 04:00 pm local time today. Eyewitnesses also told that Israeli forces surrounded the worshipers, attacked an elderly man and threw him out from the mosque. In the early hours, 4 Palestinians were also detained by Israeli forces.
