Texas Truck Crash Releases 24 Million Bees

A massive swarm of approximately 24 million honeybees was released in Orange County, Texas, after a truck carrying 400 beehives overturned on Sunday. Emergency Services quickly closed local roads and urged residents to avoid the streets, warning, “Please stay inside… There is a high concentration of bees in the area.” Fortunately, no severe injuries or bee stings have been reported in the wake of the unusual accident. Crews are currently working to salvage as many intact hives as possible, but officials caution that completely clearing the insects will take time. Authorities are still investigating the crash and have not yet identified the owner of the massive cargo.
