At least 23 Cambodian civilians were injured when Thai security forces used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters in a disputed border village between Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province and Cambodia’s Bantheay Meanchey.
Cambodian officials accused Thailand of violating the border, while the Thai Army said protesters tore down barriers and attacked with stones and slingshots, injuring Thai personnel. The incident follows renewed tensions in a long-running territorial dispute, despite a Malaysia-brokered ceasefire in July.
