Fighting along the Thailand–Cambodia border intensified as Thailand’s Chief of the General Staff, General Chaiyapruek Duangpraphat, said the army is shifting to a more aggressive approach to weaken Cambodia’s long-range attack capabilities.
The Royal Thai Air Force said F-16 jets struck sites storing Cambodia’s BM-21 rocket systems, vowing to continue operations until all threats stop. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the army has been given full authority and pledged support to families of fallen soldiers.
Cambodia reported two more civilian deaths, raising its toll to nine. Thailand said four soldiers were killed and 29 people injured. The latest clashes began after Thai airstrikes followed a Cambodian attack on Thai troops.
