The Loy Krathong (Floating Lantern) Festival, celebrated on the last full moon night in Thailand according to the lunar calendar, was celebrated on November 15 this year. Thai people flocked to rivers, canals and streams across the country to release lanterns called “krathong”, which they prepared using leaves, flowers, candles and incense, into the water with prayers.
Due to the fact that lanterns pollute the waters, Thailands used bread, chips, banana and coconut tree leaves and even ice for their lantern designs.
