Thailand Shuts 12 Marine Parks Amid Coral Bleaching Crisis

 

The Thai government closed 12 national marine parks following widespread coral bleaching, detected during underwater surveys. The closure aims to protect and aid in the recovery of affected coral reefs, as announced by the National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation Department. Visitors are prohibited until further notice to mitigate further damage to marine ecosystems.
