The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan made a statement regarding the accident in which a truck loaded with an excavator belonging to the ministry crashed into the border gate on the border of Uzbekistan, at around 04:00 pm local time on May 21. It was stated that the truck took an excavator to the village of Bocoy due to the flood disaster, and told that “as a result of the accident, 8 people, including 2 employees of the Ministry of Emergencies, lost their lives and 9 people were injured at the incident.” Adilbek Gıyazov, Deputy Head of the Batken Region Administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, said that 6 vehicles and 40 rescue workers from Kyrgyzstan and 4 vehicles from Uzbekistan were sent to the scene after the accident. Meanwhile, the video footages of the accident revealed. In the footages, it’s seen that the officials are came to scene and doing inspections on the crashed truck and the area.
