The “Rose and Rose Water Festival” held in Ab-o-Atash Park in Iranian capital city of Tehran, created colorful images. In the festival, while the public showed great interest, rose water produced from Iran’s most famous rose “Mohammadi Rose”, dried roses and various decorative products were presented to the visitors. The puppets that introduced the roses in the festival also allowed the visitors to have a pleasant time. During the festival, the stages of making rose water with roses boiled with traditional methods in copper cauldrons called “Dik” took place. “We put 30 kilograms of roses and 70 liters of water in these cauldrons and boil them for about 4 hours. The steam in the boiler reaches the tub with the pipes here and finally we get the rose water,” Muhammed Ali Purrahim said while explaining these steps to the visitors. The Rose and Rose Water Festival started in Tehran on May 15 and it will continue until June 10.
