Thick fog paralyzed air and ground traffic in Pakistan

Thick fog that being effective in several cities in Pakistan’s Punjab state, caused disruptions in daily life. Due to range of visibility dropped to 50 meters, many domestic and international flights were either delayed or canceled in Allama Iqbal International Airport located at Lahor city. Meanwhile, the thick fog in Punjab has also adversely affected the road traffic as well as air traffic. According to Pakistani highway officials, the highways from Faizpur Lahore to Samundri (M3), Mahmood Booti to Sambrial (M11), and Thokar Niaz Baig to Kot Momin (M2) have been closed to all traffic because of the thick fog. Officials also stated that highway from Abdul Hakim Toll Plaza to Faisalabad Toll Plaza (M4) has been closed for heavy transport vehicles. The Pakistani highway police advised the drivers to switch on their fog lights while driving and cruise at a very slow speed due to thick fog. Police also urged people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
