Thousands Celebrate Eid al-Adha in Thailand

Thousands of local and visiting Muslims gathered at the Islamic Center of Thailand in Bangkok to celebrate the Eid al-Adha holiday. Despite sweltering temperatures surpassing 35 degrees Celsius, worshippers in vibrant traditional clothing filled the mosque’s courtyards for early morning prayers and communal meals. Imam Shafii Napakorn delivered a unifying sermon, emphasizing that standing shoulder-to-shoulder with people of diverse nationalities is a powerful display of global brotherhood. Similar massive gatherings took place in Thailand’s southern provinces near the Malaysian border, where the majority of the country’s Muslim minority resides.
