Thousands in Iran Commemorate 40th Day of Khamenei’s Death

In Tehran, Iran, thousands of citizens and high-ranking officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, gathered to mark the 40th day since the death of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The prominent leader was killed in a joint US-Israeli airstrike targeting his office on February 28, an event that triggered an extended period of national mourning. During the memorial march along Jomhuri Avenue, demonstrators carried flags and portraits of Khamenei while chanting fierce anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans. Furthermore, the massive crowd strongly voiced their opposition to the recent ceasefire agreement with Washington, demanding continued military resistance and labeling any truce that excludes Lebanon as a betrayal.
