Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of New York City to protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attendance at the 81st UN General Assembly. The massive crowd initially gathered in Manhattan’s iconic Bryant Park, waving Palestinian flags and chanting “Free Palestine.” From there, the protesters marched toward the United Nations Headquarters to loudly condemn both his visit and the ongoing military attacks on Gaza. Although the anti-Netanyahu rally advanced close to the UN building, heavy security cordons ultimately blocked them from reaching the site itself.
