Thousands Mourn Iranian President Raisi in Tehran Funeral

Thousands gathered in Tehran as Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayers for President Ebrahim Raisi and seven others who died in a helicopter crash. The ceremony, held at Tehran University, saw a massive turnout, leading to a stampede near Inqilab Street. Among the attendees was Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniye, who joined the restricted crowd at the university for security reasons.

After the prayers at the university, a procession led mourners to Azadi Square. Following the ceremony in Tehran, President Raisi’s body will be transported to Mashhad for burial, while Foreign Minister Abdullahiyan will be interred in Tehran.
